do you get on well with your parents?

I'm very much a daddys girl... my father is my best friend. I am so lucky to have him as my dad, I seriously wouldn't be where I am now without him. He has been the person that has been my rock, always helped me and never judged me. I owe him so much. Besides that we also have so much in common personality wise, and I love talking to him. Living away from him is hard, I miss being able to see him more often. We speak every night, but I still miss him.
My mom and I get on a lot better than we ever did, but it has always been a hard and even heartbreaking relationship. I love her so much, but at times she doesn't seem to see that. My mom has the ability to change my mood like the flick of a switch. She brought us up as a single mom from my age of 7 years old ish (though we had regular weekly contact with my dad) and has had a lot of health issues. I wish we had got on better, and I wish we got on better now. But having said that I still ring every night, I love her with all of my heart. I guess we just need to understand each other more. I couldn't possibly find a stronger person than my mom, and I do think that I could never be as strong as she is.

Ask me anything

  1. snap.again.i think we are prehaps twins that got separated at birth?!...

my parents divorced when i was around 7 or 8 too and I was always a daddy's girl. though I rarely see him anymore i still think that I am closer to him rather than my mum as I have never really gotten along with my mum, I have no idea why, but it's just the way it's always been, tho I have to admit that we've been getting along a hell of a lot better recently!

I suppose I do feel a bit sad sometimes that I don't have that mother/daughter relationship that some of my friends have but I can't miss what I don't know, so it's just one of those things!! so in answer to the question in your heading - not really, haha!

my story sounds sad but it's not :)it's lovely that you speak to your parents everyday- i'm awful for keeping in touch!

hope you are well my sweet x

  2. ok I have just realised that this is one of your formspring questions and not you asking us! ha, i'm so silly - sorry x

  3. Aw, no don't be silly!!!! I love hearing from you, you're so lovely :) And I think we may just be long lost twins... Maybe we will have to meet up someday!?
I too wish I had the whole mother/daughter relationship... I guess it is there deep down, just not in the shopping together kind of way!

    Much love xxxxx
