Brighton in pictures... (picture heavy!)

So! Sorry for my lack of posting lately... been super busy lately! Still weird to say that, Im not used to being busy! But... here's pictures of the Brighton trip I took with Heidi a couple of weeks ago. It was so cool just to chill out, and just as everyone said I would, I really enjoyed Brighton!

Heidi and I <3 (I look painfully gothic in some of these pics!)

We went geocaching again... so much fun!

I got my hands tattooed while down there, by an artist called Jonny Breeze at Inka tattoo studio. I wanted to get loose fangs, as if they had been pulled out (I like how this is used as a punishment in True Blood)... kind of gothic, but totally me! I totally flaked as soon as he started and had to stop, put my head between my legs, have a fizzy drink and have a fan put next to me. I remember the same happening when I had my fingers done. A few minutes later I was fine, and sat okay (I think!) for the rest of the tattooing.. I guess it's a shock to the system and sometimes the body is going to react that way? I'm just glad I got over it quickly!

The food we ate was amazing! Brighton is paradise for vegan food. There was the vegan breakfast (tofu, mushrooms, baked tomatoes with vegan pesto, vegan sausages, baked beans and chips, with toast and vegan spread, and tea with soya milk!) at Wai Kika Moo Kau (LOVE that place!), there was our first meal there (vegan mushroom lasagne, vegan mashed potato and butter, houmous) and so much more! We also went to Red Veg, which is a veggie/vegan fast food style cafe... but the prices were pretty expensive, the service not too good and the food just a bit... well... meh.

I also found my new favourite snack though... totally delicious and totally vegan!

We're not huge party girls, so most of our time was spent shopping and chilling out, as well as having a drink in the evenings. Whoa, we're so crazy!

anxiety.

Tomorrow, as mentioned, I am going to Brighton with my good friend Heidi.

I am really anxious. And a little scared. What is wrong with me? I'm not even leaving the UK for goodness sake... Maybe it's because I haven't been on holiday for years, or that the only place I go without Mikee and the boys (as in for a few days at a time) is Wolverhampton to see my family.

Why am I so anxious? I feel a little upset too... I shouldn't feel upset, I'm going on holiday with my great friend... I'm an idiot, really.

Last night...

I met Tanaz and we went to see The Last Exorcism. Why this film did not cross my radar until it was released... I do not know.

I loved it. It's filmed in a documentary style, which is always a plus to me. I love listening to people talk, is that weird? And I have always loved an American accent... I have no particular variation of it, I just love them all! The only slight downside to the way it was filmed was that the camera work made me feel pretty queasy... but then again, I felt sickly all through the film... Maybe the solitary Appletini (yes, Appletini a la Scrubs!) caused me to feel like I was gonna puke? Yuck.

Anyway, so yep... I loved The Last Exorcism. Now, The Exorcism of Emily Rose is one of my favourite films... and I guess a lot of this story could be compared to that one... but there's definitely big differences with it. And I think I would go as far to say that this film totally surpassed Emily Rose for me... seriously.

So despite feeling sick as hell, I had a nice evening with Tanaz. She's so sweet, and such a gentle person to be around... I feel blessed to know such lovely people.

Time for some silliness...

... and a break from the seriousness...

Fill In The Blanks: Vacation Style!

1. If I didn't have to work anymore I would be a little lost at first... but grateful that I could devote more time to my own business pursuits.

2. My favorite thing about a vacation is the nice, relaxed vibe they usually hold... Well, from what I can remember anyway, it's been a while!

3. When packing for a trip I pack as little as possible.

4. If I could go on a road trip with anyone it would be Mikee and my boys.

5. My top 3 absolute travel essentials are 1) my phone 2) food and drink 3) iPod

6. Vacations are few and far between, but worth the wait.

7. On vacation you must always try and relax... Phew!

Brighton and tattoos next week

Is it weird I feel nervous being away from home for only 5 days?

I am getting loose vampire fangs/teeth tattooed near my thumb area on both hands... reminds me of the line "Bring me his fangs!" off True Blood.

Gotta love them vampires.
